Final Miss Nebraska candidates crowned
The final two Nebraska women to compete for the title of Miss Nebraska 2019 have been named in North Platte. Alexandria Roth was crowned Miss Sandhills 2019 and Emma Groninger was crowned Miss Twin Rivers 2019. Both were awarded several hundred dollars in cash scholarships Friday night at Mid Plains Community College in North Platte.
Alexandria Roth, a Wall Lake, Iowa native studying at the College of Saint Mary in Omaha, was crowned Miss Sandhills 2019 and awarded a $200 cash scholarship, in addition to a prize package donated by North Platte businesses. Roth shared a monologue entitled ‘Once Upon A Time’ sharing her personal story about her diagnoses with Diabetes. Roth, who proudly displayed her insulin pump throughout the competition, will now focus on promoting her social impact initiative: Bringing Visibility to Invisible Disabilities.
Emma Groninger, a Norfolk, Nebraska native, was crowned Miss Twin Rivers 2019 and awarded the same cash scholarships and prize package. She showcased her training with color guard, performing a routine to ‘Hold On.’ Groninger’s social impact initiative is Beautifully You; her goal is to secure as many speaking opportunities as possible to promote confidence and empowerment.
Dezere Woodson of Ravenna, Nebraska was named 1st Runner Up and awarded a $100 cash scholarship. She sang ‘Hallelujah’ while accompanying herself on ukulele.
